We recently purchased a large quantity of hybrids came from Scientific Atlanta . These are new components that have never been used in the field.
The part number "543258" is a Scientific Atlanta internal part number that is equivalent to a BGD802. All hybrids purchased by S.A. from Philips are pre-screened to meet S.A. specifications. Such parts are marked at the Philips factory. Despite and in contrary of what you may have heard these modules will produce harmonics when they are driven hard. The plot at the left shows the fundamental carrier at 98MHz and the second harmonic (-40dbc) at 196Mhz. This plot was taken at 1.5 watts out.
